These highly reliable, submersible vortex pumps are built to handle capacities of up to 150l/s (2,400 gpm) with motors from 1.5 to 13 kW (2 to 17 hp). Flygt vortex pumps are designed to tackle tough fluid-handling challenges for municipal sewage and industrial wastewater applications with maximum 500 ppm chlorides, as well as a wide range of other applications. Built for the challenge of corrosive media
Handling corrosive and potentially explosive environments containing a substantial amount of solids and fibrous matter poses distinct challenges. It is in these situations that the stainless steel Flygt D 8000 excels because it is built to cost-effectively transport corrosive media. The pump features a vortex impeller and wide throughlet that ensure consistent performance over time, trouble-free operation, and minimal maintenance. The Flygt D 8000 is designed with materials that easily handle highly acidic or alkaline liquids with pH values between 2 and 14. At the same time, the pumps ensure minimal direct contact of the impeller vanes with solids, which greatly reduces wear and tear. The wide throughlet and reduced radial forces on the impeller enable operations at very low flows, or even shut off, for extended periods without damage. Additional unique features include two sets of mechanical shaft seals, back impeller vanes, and a semi-recessed vortex impeller. Reliable support and service
